The WHY Behind “It’s Time”

The year 1972 saw many beginnings - the first digital watch, the first video game, the theatrical release of The Godfather - and the dedication of Gilley Field! 

While these beginnings have led to giant leaps in how we experience the world today, Gilley field has remained largely untouched. 

 

Over the course of the last decade, our lower campus has completely transformed with new state-of-the-art classrooms and learning environments for our Middle School and Upper School, with a newly-renovated Lower School Assembly Room building on the way. 


It's time for a new Gilley Field.

 

Gilley is the Heart of Buckley. Every student, parent, teacher, and alumnus has a reason to be on Gilley Field. Gilley Field is more than an athletics facility: it's where our entire community gathers for celebrations, from the Back to School Bash to Commencement. Gilley Field is a unique treasure on our campus that takes your breath away for its natural beauty and the lasting memories and character developed there.

 

 

Gilley Field is so much more than an athletics facility. It is the jewel of our campus where:  

  • Our students develop strong leadership skills and good sportsmanship 
  • We promote physical well-being and mental health for students across Lower, Middle, and Upper School 
  • The entire Buckley community comes together to make new friends and memories 

Gilley Field also serves as the venue for the following:

  • Athletics 
  • Physical Education Classes 
  • Field Day 
  • Spirit Week 
  • Outdoor Learning 
  • Commencement 
  • Buckley Bash
