Every Middle and Upper School grade takes a three-day trip during the school year to connect with nature and one another, and to challenge themselves.
Lower School
- First grade students extend their study of astronomy with a visit to the Griffith Park Observatory.
- Third graders deepen their cultural understanding of the Chumash experience by visiting the Wishtoyo Chumash Village
- Fourth grade students visit Camp Ocean Pines in Cambria to deepen understanding of California history
- Fifth graders visit the Pali Institute in Running Springs to strengthen skills around self-discipline, leadership, and resilience. They also bond as a grade before moving on to Middle School.
Middle School
Every year, each Middle School grade takes a two-night trip to a nearby location.On those trips, students deepen friendships and relationships with their teachers. They also explore the outdoors, play games, and engage in team-building activities. Locations are chosen for their proximity, natural setting and beauty.
Past destinations include El Capitan, Catalina Island, and Big Bear.
Upper School
Every year, each Upper School grade takes a two-night trip to deepen their relationships to nature, adventure, and one another. It’s an opportunity for personal and communal growth through group activities, risk-taking, and fun.
